The manufacturer of our nitrogen membranes has recently adjusted the structure of the article codes. As a result, new article codes may appear more specific, for example because they refer to certain test conditions such as pressure and nitrogen purity.
This change is purely administrative. The membrane, materials and performance remain unchanged.
What exactly has changed?
Previously, membranes were supplied under a generic article number, for example: 159.005246.
The manufacturer has revised this system. The new article codes now include additional information about the conditions under which the membrane was tested at the factory.
An example of a new article code is: SA1508-960-08-A-00A.
This represents:
- SA1508 → membrane module type
- 960 → tested at 96% nitrogen purity
- 08 → tested at 8 bar pressure
- other positions → internal configuration and revision codes
These values only represent the reference conditions under which factory validation was carried out.
Statement from the manufacturer
The manufacturer confirms the following:
“The inlet pressure and purity specified in the part numbers are used by the factory as a reference point to perform a full performance test prior to shipment. However, the membrane module retains the capability to operate at other inlet pressures and/or purities, as long as these fall within the membrane’s performance range.”
In other words, the pressure and purity shown in the article code are only used as a reference point for the factory performance test before shipment.
The membrane itself can still operate at other pressures and purities, provided these fall within the normal performance range of the membrane.
Important: the membrane itself has not changed
The manufacturer also confirms that:
- the membrane design has not changed,
- the materials remain identical,
- performance remains unchanged,
- operational compatibility with existing systems is fully maintained,
- fit, form and function are exactly the same,
- the only change is the assignment of new top-level article codes.
This means that a membrane previously supplied under, for example: 159.005246,
is technically identical to a membrane with a new code such as: SA1508-960-08-A-00A.
The product itself is fully identical.
Flexibility in pressure and purity
Nitrogen membranes operate within a wide range of pressure and nitrogen purity. The values in the article number therefore do not represent the only possible operating condition, but serve as reference points for factory validation.
In practice, the same membrane can:
- be applied at different pressures,
- produce different nitrogen purities,
- operate under varying process conditions.
As a result, multiple article codes may represent the same membrane, each with different test references.
Supply of equivalent article codes
It is possible that you request a specific article code, while the same membrane with a different test reference is available from stock.
Since the membrane is technically identical, Avilo can supply this without any limitations as a fully equivalent product.
Benefit for our customers
Because multiple configurations of the same membrane are kept in stock, lead times can often be reduced and delivery can be made directly from stock.
This also applies when the article code contains a different test reference.
What does this mean for you?
In summary, the article codes relate only to the test reference and do not affect the product itself.
We can supply the exact same membrane, even when the article code contains a different test reference. This enables faster delivery in many cases, as the product is already available from stock.
